For the second time this year, insurance adjusters came to our Santa Fe Springs facility for hands-on training — walking the shop floor, following live repairs, and seeing exactly how collision damage gets assessed and fixed.
Insurance adjuster training days have become a tradition at our shop — we hosted one back in January, and in July the adjusters were back for another. This time we welcomed a group that included team members from carriers like Kemper to our Santa Fe Springs facility for a morning on the shop floor.
Why Adjusters Train at a Body Shop
Insurance adjusters write repair estimates every day, but many have never watched a repair happen from start to finish. When adjusters understand what it actually takes to pull a bent structure back to factory spec or blend paint across adjacent panels, estimates get more accurate, supplements get approved faster, and customers get their vehicles back sooner. Everyone wins — especially the vehicle owner stuck in the middle.
What This Session Covered
We built the day around vehicles that were in the shop for repair that week:
- Live damage walk-arounds - Adjusters examined real collision damage side by side with our estimators, comparing what's visible from the outside with what disassembly reveals
- Hidden damage - Why the first estimate is rarely the final one, and what our technicians look for behind bumper covers and quarter panels
- Repair vs. replace decisions - Where the line sits on modern vehicles, including high-strength steel and aluminum panels
- Paint and refinish - A look inside our PPG-certified paint operation and what factory-quality color matching involves
- Documentation - How we photograph and document each stage so carriers get what they need the first time
Building on a Good Idea
Hosting two of these sessions in one year says something we're proud of: insurance professionals see value in learning how repairs really work, and they trust our shop to show them.
